Aquastar Benthos 500 Vintage Diver Automatic Compressor Case Swiss Made 1970s. Rare and sought-after watch, one of the most iconic vintage Swiss professional diver’s watches ever produced. Legendary model designed for professional diving, famous for its distinctive 42 x 40.2 mm compressor case, with unidirectional rotating professional diver’s bezel. The extreme tool-watch design and the historic orange “regatta style” minute hand make it a distinctive element of the Benthos series. The watch is powered by the automatic movement (A. Schild) caliber AS 2162. This 17-jewel Swiss movement has been profoundly modified by Aquastar through the addition of an additional upper plate. This technical modification allows the central 60-minute chronograph counter (the famous orange “flyback” hand used for dive times) to be operated via the single pump button located on the case. Characteristic original vintage Tropic strap. Perfectly functional piece, in NOS (New Old Stock) condition, complete with original box.
