The Aquastar Regate (or Regate / Regatta) is a historic regatta watch, produced by Aquastar in the 1960s and 1970s, much appreciated by enthusiasts for its countdown function for the starts of naval regattas. The Aquastar Regate was launched in 1964 (or shortly thereafter) using a modified Felsa 4000N movement with the 5-minute regatta module. It was one of the first (if not the first) regatta wristwatches with that feature. JeanRichard SA filed a patent in 1961 for a watch with a 5-minute countdown function for regattas. Aquastar was founded by Frédéric Robert, who was very interested in nautical instruments.
