We offer this fascinating Breitling Navitimer Ref. 0816, one of the most unique and recognizable Navitimer models from the second half of the 1960s. The watch is equipped with the prestigious manual-winding Venus 178 caliber, a historic column-wheel chronograph movement used by Breitling in its famous professional chronographs. The most distinctive feature of this reference is its large steel case measuring approximately 48 mm, a size that has contributed to the particular identity of this version of the Navitimer. At the heart of the watch is the famous Venus 178 movement, a manual mechanical chronograph of great collector’s interest, one of the movements that contributed to the fame of vintage Navitimers and represents a fundamental part of the history of Breitling chronographs. The caseback features the markings: DDE.BR. 11525/67 – ref. 0816 – serial number 1243485. The reference 0816, combined with the Venus 178 and the large case of approximately 48 mm, identifies one of the most particular versions of the Navitimer produced in the second half of the 1960s. CONDITION: The watch is in very good vintage condition, considering its age of approximately sixty years. The dial retains its original configuration very well and has a pleasant patina consistent with the era. The case retains its original characteristics, with very slight micro-scratches due to age. The movement is well preserved, complete and in perfect working order, completely serviced in July 2026.
